چکیده

Methods: Ten metallic bars simulated frameworks of fixed implant-supported prosthesis over two master models with five implants: one with all implants straight and parallel (n=5) and one with the two distal implants tilted (n=5). Strain gauges were fixed on abutments to measure deformation when a 50N-load was applied on the cantilever at 10, 15, and 20 mm-distance from the distal abutment. Deformation values were transformed into axial force and bending moment and analyzed by ANOVA and Tukey test (α = 5%).

Effect of Number of Implants and Cantilever Design on Stress Distribution in Three-unit Fixed Partial Dentures: a Three-dimensional Finite Element Analysis

Although dental implants have been successfully used for the rehabilitation of fully edentulous and partially edentulous patients, patient’s various conditions constrict the application of implant, or make dental treatment using dental implants very complex and difficult. Implantsupported cantilever prostheses represent that conditions. Becker and Kaiser insisted that alignment problems, extens...

Effect of the number of abutments on biomechanics of Branemark prosthesis with straight and tilted distal implants

OBJECTIVE This study aimed to evaluate the bending moments, and compressive and tensile forces in implant-supported prostheses with three, four or five abutments. MATERIAL AND METHODS Ten Pd-Ag frameworks were tested over two master models with: 1) parallel vertical implants, and 2) tilted distal implants. Strain gauges were fixed on the abutments of each master model to measure the deformati...

تعیین توزیع تنش استخوان اطراف ایمپلنت‌های فک پایین در طرح‎های مختلف پروتز به هنگام Mandibular- Flexure

Statement of Problem: In the treatment of edentulous patients with implant supported fixed partial dentures several factors such as implant numbers, implant position, superstructure pattern and cantilever length must be considered. Mandibular flexture in function exerts forces in peri-implant bone, however this phenomenon has received little attention. Purpose: The goal of this finite element a...

Statement o f p rob l em . Despite their mobility differences under occlusal loads, a natural tooth and an implant are often used together to support fixed prostheses. In some situations, tooth/implant-supported partial prostheses include cantilever extensions, especially in the posterior region where the bone is inadequate for placement of an additional implant. Purpose . In this study, engine...

Evaluation of the structural behavior of three and four implant-supported fixed prosthetic restorations by finite element analysis.

PURPOSE There is much controversy about the minimum number of implants and maximum cantilever length in mandible prosthetic restoration. Finite elements analysis of three and four implant-supported prostheses was performed to determine the stresses in the superstructure, implants and cortical bone and, therefore, the failure prediction for each restoration. METHODS An edentulous mandible was ...
